Geeks
We love trigonometry.
We love biology.
We love geometry.
We love ecology,
We talk a lot about Harry Potter,
and about the Periodic Table.
We spend time analyzing water
under the microscope. And oh, I have a label.
It’s Asperger’s Syndrome. I’m the classic kind,
not one of those fakers.
People like me are hard to find,
even among Quakers.
I’m such a geek I can fix anything
from calculators to computers.
I’m obsessed with trains that bring
people to work really fast. They’re called commuters.
I memorize a lot of books
and analyze them all day long.
I don’t care about my looks
even though you may think that’s so wrong.
I love my computer very dearly
and also my iPod and iPhone.
I don’t speak very clearly
and I don’t’ pay much attention to my tone.
I don’t have a problem at all.
Asperger’s Syndrome is my greatest gift.
It’s other labels that make me feel small.
This one just gives me a lift.
